J.T. founded Soul Focus Sports, LLC, and brings a wealth of experience to the company as a race director and athlete agent. He has represented athletes such as endurance star Dean Karnazes, served as the executive director for numerous events, and has co-created properties such as The San Francisco Giant Race series, the Packard Summer Scamper 5k/10k, and most recently The San Jose 408k “Race to the Row”. Adding to his depth of industry knowledge, J.T. is a graduate of the Santa Clara University School of Law and maintains membership with the California Bar. In his fitter days, Service was a college cross-country standout at UC Santa Barbara, a competitive marathoner participating in numerous national championships, and an Olympic Trials participant in the marathon. J.T. stopped running everyday so he can focus on pursuing the surf, and of course building his company.
Scott has spent a decade working in sports business, playing an integral role in the conceptualization, development, and growth/marketing of a variety of large-scale events, most notably The San Francisco Giant Race Series and the world-famous Mavericks surf competition. From learning the tricks of the trade as a young staffer at the Oakland Athletics and Golden State Warriors, to coordinating five globally viewed big-wave surf contests on just 48 hours’ notice, to producing dozens of road races over hundreds of miles of road for tens of thousands of people – Scott has more than a few good stories to share if you’re so inclined. A graduate in Economics from UC Berkeley, Scott was a 4-time national champion and co-captain of the California Golden Bears varsity rugby team. Currently coaching youth rugby with every free moment he can find, Scott’s greatest accomplishment is keeping up with his wife and their young daughter on the ski slopes.
Scott has been around the running world his entire life. After an exceptional prep Track & Field career, Scott continued his running at the University of California, Santa Barbara. It was there that he met one of his college mentors, teammate & now business partner, JT Service. In college, Scott was a mid-distance star at UC Santa Barbara, where he broke the 1,500 meter school record. After earning his BA in Environmental Studies, Scott immersed himself into the running industry in his hometown of Santa Cruz, where he volunteered his time as a local coach and became the Elite Athlete Coordinator for the Wharf to Wharf Race. Today, along with his Soul Focus duties, Scott is also in the Wharf to Wharf Race Director, as well as the Head Track & Field Coach at Aptos High School. In his inner circles, Scott is most famous for being the 2nd best Race Director in his family, 2nd only to his wife, owner of the highly successful All-Women’s Race Series, “She Is Beautiful.”
Jameson’s journey starts with 5 glorious years at the University of California Santa Barbara, where he earned his BA in Political Science with minors in Sport Management and History. After college, he received his Masters in Sport Management from the University of San Francisco. It was there that Jameson was united with JT and Scott as a staffer with Evolve Sports and Mavericks Surf Ventures, assisting in the production of events like the Mavericks Surf Contest, The Giant Race, and the Silicon Valley Marathon. He has also spent time in the Stanford Athletics department as an event manager. After following his now wife Christina down to SoCal (yes, she invited him), he took a job as the Director of Operations with Pacific Sports LLC, producing such endurance events as the Los Angeles, Long Beach and Newport Beach Triathlon.Jameson recently moved to Austin, Texas where he continues his work as an associate manager with the ESPN X Games. When not working, he enjoys playing soccer, skiing and ultimate Frisbee.
Andy is an independent writer, producer, director, shooter, and editor who is an anomaly in the production world… the projects he loves working on most are usually designed, at least in part, to inspire people who watch to go out and do something instead of live their life through what they see on TV or their computer. He’s worked regularly since 2004 for clients ranging from major sports teams to huge tech firms to small companies that want creative video marketing on a smaller budget. These projects are as varied as broadcast event coverage, features, documentaries and short films. Sometimes he’s the director, at other times the editor or shooter, and sometimes he produces the whole thing. His experience in all of these areas helps him always see the big picture, but also focus on the essential details that can make a story great. Every project he works on is fun and challenging in its own way, and he’s hoping to continue exploring the world through his work.
Angela started working in the event industry in 1999 (last century), and since then has worked on hundreds of events (read: understatement). Over the years, she’s worn many hats (literally and figuratively) while working on everything from large scale productions (X Games, Bass Masters, ComicCon, and a little thing called the Olympics) – to smaller festivals (Red Bull X Fighters, SF Dragon Boat Races, and the Honda Ski Tour). Claims to be forever to be a “jill of all trades and master of none” in her own words, but we know better. That’s why she’s on our team.
